Nicola Slattery - A Book at Bedtime

Nicola Slattery

Born in Coventry in 1963, Nicola Slattery studied at Coventry School of Art in the early 1980s. She lived in Oxford for a number of years, working as a print-maker and teacher of print-making. It was after moving with her husband, Paul, to live at Thunder Hill Farm in rural Norfolk in 1996 that she felt happy to start afresh as a painter. Her enigmatic paintings of lovers, floating solitary figures, animals and birds are characterised by what she calls 'peaceful thoughtfulness'.
